Individual Mental Health Counseling or Mental Skills Training

Service Description

This is a 50 minute session. The initial session involves learning about your history, your goals, and desired areas of growth. We will build a personalized mental training plan that involves strategies and ideas to practice outside of the session, and see if ongoing work with me will fit your needs. Individuals may meet weekly, biweekly, monthly, or as needed. Focus of work may involve: - Building self-awareness of your performance personality to better utilize your strengths and develop/compensate for your areas of difficulty. - Developing strategies to manage performance anxiety and maintain composure during high pressure moments. - Learning strategies to improve confidence, consistency, and concentration more effectively. - Identifying more helpful ways cope with failure. - Improving practice habits to maximize your learning potential. - Developing optimal communication skills to improve relationships with teammates and coaches. - Managing injuries and end of career difficulties. - Finding balance between personal and performance life. - Career-related concerns (e.g., selecting schools, transfer concerns, retirement, etc.) - Consultation on habits, mindsets, and demands of Division I athletic programs to better prepare for transition to college. - And more! Mental health treatment may involve evidence-based interventions focused on anxiety, depression, relationship/interpersonal issues, and more.
